The Philosophy

Transhumanism is an intellectual movement that advocates using technology to enhance human capabilities beyond their natural biological limits. It treats the current human condition, including aging, cognitive limitations, and mortality, as a set of engineering problems to be solved rather than immutable features of existence.

Biologist Julian Huxley popularized the term in 1957, and philosopher Max More shaped it into a modern movement in the 1990s. The underlying ideas reach back further, to thinkers who believed humanity could direct its own evolution.
