Google DeepMind Chair, Alphabet Chief Scientist, Nobel Laureate
Demis Hassabis founded DeepMind with the explicit goal of solving intelligence and using it to solve everything else. Under his leadership, DeepMind achieved milestones that moved the field forward by years: AlphaGo defeated the world champion at Go in 2016, a feat many expected to take another decade. AlphaFold then solved the protein folding problem, unlocking decades of potential biological research. Hassabis combines deep expertise in neuroscience with practical AI engineering.
